There has been an increased amount of foreign investments in Africa. Indeed, the Harvard Business review recently showed that companies gain a higher return on their investments in Africa than for similar investments in other regions such as china and India. Although international investment in Africa is rapidly increasing, there is still a large amount of investors ignorance. There is the preconception that Africa is too politically and economically unstable to invest in. Investors from the countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) remain set in their ways, thereby missing very lucrative investment opportunities. It is hence important to discuss ways in which we can attract new foreign investments into Africa and dispel these preconceptions, as foreign investment would help to significantly boost Africa’s economy.
